THEIR STORY
Dedication and Service
The Angie & Avery Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 2021 following the tragic and senseless loss of Avery Clinton McQueen. In 2022, our family endured another profound loss with the passing of Andrea Michelle McQueen, lovingly known as “Angie,” due to a chronic heart condition. To honor their memory, strength, and enduring impact, we brought their names together under one foundation dedicated to carrying forward their legacy.

The Angie & Avery Foundation has supported over three hundred children during the
holidays, aided more than one hundred homeless individuals in Atlanta, provided handwritten
cards to over five hundred soldiers, distributed school supplies to over four hundred students, and
awarded scholarships to ten HBCU students.

Andrea Michelle McQueen, lovingly known as “Angie,” passed away on January 5, 2022, due to chronic heart failure at the age of 37. Her love, compassion, and dedication continue to live on through her children Jayden, Brooklyn, and Michael; her mother Debra; her sister Danielle; her brother-in-law Edward; her nieces Destini, Amor, Peyton, and Naihla; her nephew Isaac; extended family, friends, and the many families whose lives she touched.

Avery Clinton McQueen dedicated his life to caring for his nieces, nephews, and younger cousins while faithfully serving his community. Whenever someone was in need, Avery was always willing to help. His employer once described him as “dependable,” a quality that reflected the way he lived his life every day. Avery was tragically shot and killed on December 17, 2020, at the age of 35.
Although Avery never had children of his own, he deeply loved and cared for the children in his family and community. His nieces and nephews saw him not just as an uncle, but as a big brother and role model. December 17th is now a day we honor Avery’s life, his kindness, and the impact he made on everyone around him.

We also celebrate Avery’s determination and perseverance when he made the decision to return to school and earn his GED. The joy he felt after passing his exam is a memory that continues to inspire us. We remember him walking out with both hands raised in victory — a powerful reminder to never give up.

Today, the legacies of Angie and Avery continue to shine brightly through their loved ones, the communities they served, and the mission of this foundation. Their memories remain a lasting reminder to love, uplift, and serve others with compassion.
